JSerra Team Policies:
Volunteer Policy
At this time, there will be no required volunteer commitment from
the JSerra familes except for the required timing commitment at
swim meets. As the team grows, this policy will be
revised. Aquazot Swim Club does
encourage its members to get involved and be part of the swim
community by participating in team events and parties.
Aquazot Swim Club Timing Commitment
Families with children participating in the Aquazot Swim Club must
participate in our Timing Commitment Program.
All Aquazot Swimmers swimming at a meet must provide timers for a
minimum of one hour for every meet day that they
swim.*
This is a minimum requirement. The actual time required may
vary as the team is assigned timing chairs by the meet hosts at the
start of each meet. The Aquazot Timing Coordinator will notify
swimmers as to the number of required timing shifts for each
meet. Families with multiple swimmers have the same time
commitment as single swimmer families. They will not need to
provide additional timers.
The Aquazot Timing Coordinator will send out an email for timing
sign ups about 3 - 10 days prior to the meet. Each family is
required to sign up on line for all swim meets in which their
children participate. In the event you are unable to sign up
on line or the timing sessions appear full, you are still
required to meet with the timing coordinator upon arriving at the
meet. The timing coordinator will assign you a shift as
necessary. Please read the sign up information carefully, as
the timing commitment may change from each meet.
Families participating in the distance events such as the 500 Free,
400 IM, 1000 Free, etc., must adhere to the timing requirements
designated on the meet entry form. Timing for your child’s
distance event is separate from the team timing commitment and does
not count toward your team obligation. Distance swimmers are
always required to provide their own lap counters.
At each meet, each family is required to check in with the Aquazot
Timing Coordinator. If a family has a last minute conflict or
illness, the family is responsible for notifying the Aquazot Timing
Coordinator for that swim meet. Failure to notify the timing
coordinator will result in a $50.00 fine per swim meet.
The Aquazot timing commitment is separate from your volunteer
commitment hours. Timing hours do NOT count toward your
volunteer commitment hours.
Fundraising Policy
A fundraising program is necessary to meet the many expenses
associated with Club swimming and to build a stronger, more
competitive team. The fundraising will go toward supplies and
equipment, relay entry fees, coaches’ travel and other team
expenses. Since everyone benefits from
fundraising efforts, all Aquazot families are required to
participate in team fundraising at a set minimum.
All Aquazot families with 2 swimmers or less are required to raise
a minimum of $200 per year per swimmer.
Families with 3 or more swimmers are required to raise a minimum of
$500 total per year. The Aquazot
fundraising year is measured from September to August.
Families can fulfill their fundraising commitment through a variety
of fundraising activities offered throughout the year such
as:
Olympic Swimmer Clinic
: A percentage of ticket sales go
toward a swimmer’s fundraising commitment.
Azot Aquathon:
Participants solicit pledges from
businesses, family, neighbors, etc. prior to swimming. Pledges may be either a flat rate or per lap swam.
Swimmers have a two-hour period to swim a maximum of 200
lengths.
Schoolpop/E-Script:
A percentage of designated purchases are applied to Aquazot Swim
Club. Details for both programs are available in the office.
Raffle:
Families may bring in raffle items or
put together raffle baskets. The amount the item earns in raffle
tickets is credited to your account.
This fundraising opportunity is only available at Aquazot hosted
swim meets* and the Annual Swim Club Banquet. Raffle items and/or baskets must receive
prior approval from the Fundraising or
Banquet Chairperson.
Selling Advertising Space:
Families may sell advertising space in either the Banquet program
or in meet programs for any Aquazot hosted meets*.
See’s Candies Sales: This
option will be offered twice a year.
Families receive fundraising credit for a percentage of candies
sold.
Albertsonís Reward Card:
A percentage of designated purchases are applied to Aquazot Swim
Club. Families must retain receipts to
receive fundraising credit.
Registration numbers are available in the office.
Please note all fundraising activities may not be available every
year. You will be notified as other
fundraising opportunities become available.
In the event that a family becomes inactive prior to fulfilling
their fundraising commitment, they will be billed at a rate of $20
per month for the months they swam with the team. Any family who has not satisfied their minimum
annual fundraising commitment by August
10th will have the remaining amount added to their September
bill. Likewise, if a family joins the
team midseason, their fundraising commitment will be
prorated.
For families that exceed their minimum, 50% of the excess funds
will be made available to them for team travel, team apparel, and
private lessons.
Each family is responsible for proving and reporting their
fundraising contributions by completing a fundraising form. Fundraising forms are available in the
Aquazot Swim Office and must be verified by Aquazot staff.
*Please note AZOT is not schedule to host any meets this
