NGSV Meet Highlights

Justin hanson qualified for an NRT time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:46.31. Justin had best times in all of his events narrowly missing two other NRT times in the 100 and 200 free.

Casey Duckworth had a strong 1500 meter free posting a 19.05. She also won the 400 free in an scsrt time of 4:55.84 and the 400 IM in 5:39.22. Caswey posted antoher scsrt time in the 100 back with a time of 1:15.13.

Corey Okubo had a solid meet winning numerous events, qualifying for scsrt times in the 50 fly (31.73), 100 fly (1:08.70) and 400 meter free (4:52.10).


Austin Beyajou had an outstanding meet posting best times in the 100, 200 free and 100 breast.

Matthew B. Wong had a stellar meet as well making his first SCSRT in the 200 IM at 2:55.57.

Jake Wyatt had a great first Blue meet posting a time of 1:09 in the 100 free.

Highlights from the FAST meet

Justin Hanson won the 100 meter butterfly with a come from behind move. He made his first NRT time at 9 years old with a time of 1:15.25.

Corey Okubo had a stellar meet winning numerous events including the 100 fly at 1:08.95.

Casey Duckworth swam well in the long distance events and came within 9 seconds of the Azot record in the 800 meter freestyle.

Megan Rankin finished off her last meet in the 11-12 age group winning the 200 IM and posting best times in all of her events.

Everyone posted best times from their previous long course meets.

Congratulations Azots for starting out our long course season well!

 

More Azot Records Broken at JO Max Meet!

There were numerous best times swum at the JO max meet this past weekend. Highlights from the meet were the smoking fast 8 + under boys relay which took first place and broke the Aquazot record in a time of 1:02.59 consisting of Timmy Hanson, Chase Braun, Morgan Cortens, and Andrew Knoell.

Jared Namba also broke an Azot record in the 200 butterfly with a 2:09.48.

Alex Namba had an outstanding meet making Junior Olympics in the 50 freestyle while placing 1st and 50 breastroke 1st and placed first in the 100 breast, 50 fly, 100 IM.

Julia Knoell placed 1st and qualified for JO's in the 50 backstroke and 100 backstrokes, she also placed first in the 100 freestyle.

Casey Duckworth had a strong 1650 close to an NRT with a time of 18:51.99 taking first place.

Maggie Hofstadter took first place in the 100 back. Sophie Shiba took first in the 100 breast.

Ellen Naruse made her JO cut in the 100 IM.

Chase Braun took first place in the 25 backstroke, while Andrew Knoell won the 50 breast.

Taylor Cortens qualified for JO's while winning the 50 freestyle and likewise in the 200 free.

Robert Naruse won the 100 back, 100 IM and the 50 fly were he qualified for JO's.

 

AZOT finishes 4th at Junior Olympics!

The Junior Olympics this past weekend held at Belmont had some great swims by Aquazot swimmers. Aquazots finished fourth place behind Nova, Mission Viejo and Claremont Club. Azots trailed 3rd by only 3.5 points.

Highlights from the meet were John Kim who took first in the 200 IM 1:55.31, 400 IM 4:08.73, 200 Breast 2:09.38, and 100 Breast 59:88. John qualified for Junior Nationals in the 200 IM as well as the 100 and 200 Breastrokes.

Garret Larson notched second place behind teammate John Kim in the 100 Breast 1:03.07 and 4th in the 200 breast 2:15.26.

Chris Wong placed 3rd in the 200 backstroke 2:00.10 and 100 backstroke 55.56.

The 13-14 boys relay of John, Garret, Chris, and Anthony Daboub placed 2nd in the 200 medley and 3rd in the 400 medley relay.

Rheanna Vaughn took home 2nd in the 200 fly with a 2:03.83 while qualifying for Spring Nationals! and 4th in the 100 fly 57.74.

Angela Lee placed 4th in the 400 IM 4:36.89.

Jared Namba broke Azot records in the 50 freestyle 23.70 and 50 butterfly were he won gold with a 25.85.

The 11-12 boys' relays of Jared Namba, Corey Okubo, Austin Beyaju, and Christian Garkani had strong showings in the 200 medley 2nd and 400 medley 3rd and 200 free relay 3rd.

For the 9-10 boys Justin Hanson qualified for finals in four events after just turning 9.

Ryan Braun also made finals in the 50 fly, 50 back and 100 back.
